The Big Orange

After pandemic postponements, the sextet The Big Orange, commissioned by Alternativa, will perform a piece on "how to avoid a free-jazz jam", partly prepared in rehearsals and partly improvised onstage. The international collective of musicians includes Christian Pruvost from France on trumpet, Michal Wróblewski on saxophone and clarinet, Jan Jirucha on trombone, Vojtěch Procházka on piano and keyboard, Adrian Myhr from Norway on bass guitar and Slovak artist Michaela Antalová on drums. Expect a musical conversation between experienced improvisers who developed their own means of expression; it will no doubt benefit from the diversity of the personalities involved and from the connection to the extremely talented and experiment-minded Norwegian scene, which is present not only in the person of Adrian Myhr, but also in Vojtěch Procházka and Michaela Antalová, who both studied in Norway.
