Established names in novel combinations, pioneering collaborations and joint explorations of the limits of sound. The Alternativa Festival, a unique showcase of dense music focusing mainly on experimentation, fringe genres and improvisation, takes place this year on 15-16 and 22-23 November, and most of the programme is now published!
Access is an international project that will focus on experimental art in the years 2024-2026 and Unijazz has become part of it as a partner following the activities for teenagers within the Alternativa festival. The aim of the project is to give participants access to artistic experiences in places not primarily intended for this, to create and inspire each other together, to experiment with new forms of making and listening, including active audience participation. European artists, especially musicians from the field of improvised and alternative music, will experiment during six artist residencies. In Prague, Access will go to schools whose students will be active participants in the project.
We cordially invite you to the eve of the festival under the curatorship of the Prague Quiet Music Collective. On 2 November, the opulent spaces of the Troja Castle will be filled with the sound of the Australian wilderness, horňácký folklore and live electronic processing.
