Prague Quiet Music Collective
The Prague Quiet Music Collective was founded with the intention of presenting contemporary compositions with a tendency to sound economy, working with silence and with subtle details of sound, leading the listener to perceptiveness and full experience of the present moment. We believe that, especially in a hectic time of attention economy and overload of stimuli, silence has great value, allowing us to glimpse the beauty of slowness, transience, fragility and detail. The five-member ensemble, under the artistic direction of Ian Mikysky, is committed not only to novel concert dramaturgy, but also to creating a unique and appropriate environment for the listening experience. One of the ensemble's goals is to commission new works. These are then performed repeatedly to give them a chance to develop and take root.
