Adéla Konečná
Musician and multimedia artist Adéla Konečná has already made her mark on the Czech scene. She is involved in the Olomouc collective Hlubina and has a synth project Orinoko; recently, she has also been performing under her own name with more abstract material. Her approach is both collage-like and narrative. These are not directly ambient – soothing/sedative - soundscapes, but rather, there‘s an unhurried, quivering flow of raw sonic elements. Konečná makes frequent use of unpolished oscillations, to a hypnotic effect; at the same time, she carefully weaves in subtle distortions and adds a sprinkle of field recordings. At times, powerful melodies emerge unexpectedly from the soft, restless clamour. In her own words: this is tender noise/harsh ambient.
